of the past
few weeks….
First of all
I worked on a small gift for a special friend (click)…
Also some other
quilters came over for a visit two weeks ago, Ageeth (click) brought me some
lovely gifts (thank you Ageeth, love them!) , the chocolate is gone by now (it
was jummy!), the fabrics will find a nice place in one or more projects and the
very special scissors I will cherish…
Diana and
Emma (no blogs) joined us which resulted in three Di Ford Quilt Mania mysteries
in one room (none of which are mine, I did not participate in this mystery)
and two
Phebe’s (Ageeth’s and mine)
And
yesterday I visited the Quiltshow in Rijswijk (Patchwork and Quiltdagen), not a
large quiltshow but well worth a visit. I had fun trying out the new Bernina
longarm quiltmachines, especially the Q20 table model, I absolutely loved it
(and I am not much of a machine quilter, so that is saying something)!
At these
shows it is always fun to see familiar faces!

ready to help me out with her knowledge, thank you again for that this week! - Evy
(and assistant) from my local quilt shop the Quilterspalet (click) at her booth
One of the
exhibitions was to celebrate 15 years of Elly Prins longarm quilting (click), a
few examples of the quilts on show:
And this
last one was very special, unfortunately there was no description next to the
quilt, I asked one of the girls at Elly’s booth who made the quilt, it turned out to be Elly herself who made the
complete quilt (not just the quilting). She used different techniques to make
the top, in the middle block the girl was even wearing a real earring.
Elly
celebrated her 15 years in the quilting business by treating her customers to
some great discounts on batting she was selling especially for this occasion.
Of course I celebrated with her ;-)!
Back to some
patchwork now, need to make tops for these battings!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenWat een leuke blogpost, Phyllis! Ben vandaag naar Rijswijk geweest en de eerste quilt, die ik leuk vond, was dus die mandjesquilt, Ideefixe! En inderdaad, ook ik fotografeerde het detail van het prachtige quiltwerk in de "lijst" van het Meisje met de Parel... Geen wonder dus, dat onze Phebe-centres er qua kleur op de foto heel erg hetzelfde uitzien 😉.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenJammer dat we elkaar zijn misgelopen! Het was inderdaad klein (maar dat is alles denk ik als je Houston bent gewend) maar leuk om even rond te struinen. Wat een enig schaartje heb je van Ageeth gekregen en wat mooi die prachtige quilts bij elkaar, wat een werk zit daarin! De stofjes voor je project zijn helemaal mijn smaak, benieuwd wat het gaat worden!
